Using Jetico Firewall

Introduction

Jetico Personal Firewall installs three configurable filters at different layers of operating system:

• Network packet filter works at lower level. It processes packets coming to and from network adapter.
• Application filter is capable of filtering network connections on per application basis.
• Process attack filter is designed to prevent process hijacking.

Setup

Head for the Configuration tab. Rules are collected in tables. A blue arrow pointing to the right indicates a link to a table whose rules apply here before moving down to the next line in the table. Tables belong to a security policy, which, by default, is "Optimal protection". Pretty complicated compared to Kerio.

The freeware version, V1, doesn't uninstall properly.
