Networking with Windows clients and Linux servers
Introduction
The goal of this paper is to show you how to set up basic network services using Windows clients and Linux servers. By "basic" services, I mean fundamental stuff that covers most generic needs that users expect to find, namely single-sign on (so they only need to log on once and have access to all the networks services without being prompted for a different user/password account), access to file and print servers, and the corporate intranet (private web server). I came up with the idea of writing this paper while learning about Microsoft's latest toy Active Directory. This lead me to wonder why companies don't realize that they do not need to follow the Microsoft Way.
